Intro
What’s up everyone? It feels good to be shooting photos and writing again. In this SNAPSHOT, we’ll be going over the Flat 6 Coffee Co. and Cars meet that happened this past weekend in Denver, Colorado. It was held on the 1st of March and was the biggest gathering of Porsche’s I went to in my automotive photographing journey. There were an overwhelming amount of newer Porsche models but I managed to capture the ones that I personally liked so I hope y’all like those too.
Due to the amount of foot traffic and parked cars, I was a bit overwhelmed. Getting into the swing of things took a moment but I eventually caught my groove. Since it’s the first meet of the year and first time shooting an event in a while, I took this as a warm-up for future events. Regardless, I’m stoked to show y’all the cars I captured this weekend. Let’s get right into it!
Cars
Upon arrival, 20 minutes after 9am, there were already cars parked on the street in front of Flat 6 Coffee and Co. Adjacent street parking was already occupied so I was circling blocks nearby to find a spot. I drove through alleyways, rolled up my windows as I passed by deserted lots, and avoided a homeless person. I decided to park a couple blocks down at a nearby Arc thrift store. Luckily, I was joined by this Nissan Skyline (ER34) sedan on Work VS-KF wheels.

I worked my way from the Arc thrift store to the Flat 6 Coffee building. What captured my attention was this Porsche 911 (991) on BBS E88 wheels.

About 2 blocks heading north on Acoma street, I approached this Porsche 911 Turbo (996) also on a set of BBS E88 wheels. The 996 silhouette continues to grow on me every time I see one…
The Laws Whiskey House neighbors the Flat 6 Coffee and Co. building. They provided parking for attendees as well.

In the Laws Whiskey House parking lot, there was this dedicated track-car Porsche 911 (930) with a RSR/IROC style front bumper. It looked really cool in front of the monochromatic distillery building.

As I was shooting, the clouds provided a dynamic shooting environment. It was diffusing light properly one moment then messing with my exposure as the sun came out… The clouds were on my side when I captured this Porsche Carrera 2 (997) with a GT3 wing. The contrast between the paint of the car and the finish of the wheels is a nice pairing, in my opinion.

Before Japanese cars completely turned my life around, Ferrari’s were my dream car; specifically, the 90’s very own Ferrari F355 and Ferarri 550. In the mix of German cars at the cars and coffee, it was nice to see this Italian coupe…

I decided to give the block another walk-around to grab more pictures of cars that arrived. I filmed a couple clips on my iPhone 16 as there were younger kids with their fancy camera set-ups on their stabilized gimbals. I’m trying to get myself out of my comfort zone by vlogging these small moments. My hope is to supplement this photo coverage with video footage so stay tuned for that!
On my second walk-around, I tried to get a little bit creative so here’s a shot of that…

Nearby curbs served as overflow parking for the meet, as mentioned before. Here’s a muscle car classic: Dodge Viper GTS with the iconic stripe going down the middle. I have one gripe with this car and it’s that atrocious gap between the tires and the fenders!

These Subaru bug-eyed WRX/STIs are getting more uncommon so it’s a pleasure to see these in-person. This bodystyle, regardless of the front-end variants, has to be at the peak of all Subaru sedans.

This bug-eye has been tastefully modded and holds the essence of early-2000s JDM builds. I will admit that the silver/gold color combination is starting to grow onto me.

As I started to head back to the car, I saw these 911s leaving within the reflection of this shop window. It reminds me of a Larry June album cover shot by Miggs (Instagram).

To complete a trio of of silver cars with gold wheels: here is this silver Porsche 911 (993), with an RS wing, on gold BBS E88s.

Another block heading south on Acoma street, I spotted this Porsche 911 Turbo (930) slant nose. With meaty tires wrapped around the Fikse Classic FM/10 wheels, the fenders get filled up appropriately. What a nice side silhouette from this red coupe. Sheesh.

& No Coffee
The streets were packed with Denver’s Porsche enthusiasts. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to try out Flat 6’s coffee due to the long line. I was in line and captured a shot of the merchandise propped up by the entrance. I contemplated whether or not the wait would be worth it for about a minute. I realized I was more hungry and excited to leave so that I could get home and edit the photos. That’s when I decided to hop out of the line and went to a bakery 10 minutes away.
When you walk in through the west-side garage door entrance, you’re immediately greeted by a red Porsche 918 Spyder. Ironically, I recorded an introduction of me mentioning “I have a good feeling [I’ll] see a Carrera GT today”. Despite not seeing a Carrera GT, the 918 Spyder is considered to be a successor to the Porsche supercar. To me it’s an infamous car because of the late Paul Walker. Let’s take a moment to give Paul Walker his flowers!

Inside the coffee spot, it’s a pristine place with automotive artwork, modern furniture, and clean brick walls. When I heard about the meet weeks prior, I input the address on Google Maps and went to Street View. I observed that the Flat 6 Coffee spot used to be a repair shop called “Eurasian Motors”. It’s quite fitting that the automotive-centered coffee shop used to be a automotive repair shop.

Aside from that, it was a massive turnout. There was little to no parking a quarter after the starting meet time. Enthusiasts, old and young, were sprawling the streets. Japanese imports filtered in here and there. Good sounds of German engineering and chattering enthusiasts produced soundwaves that reached your ears. It was good! I just wished I had a chance to taste some coffee!
Thanks for stopping by on this SNAPSHOT covering the Flat 6 Coffee Co. and Cars meet! I’ll catch y’all in the next one! JVZY out!
