Intro
Hello REVIZE readers! As I’m writing this from my kitchen counter in my apartment, it is windy and cold outside. I returned from a morning walk with my dog accompanied by my apartment building neighbor and his dog. We chatted for a bit as our respective huskies terrorized the nearby park with their random bursts of energy and fury, fluffy antics. My dry, bare hands were getting dryer and colder by the bitter wind chill in Colorado. Colorado has been baring gusty winds for the past week resulting in some suburbs’ power being shut down for safety concerns and preventative measures as there was the infamous 2021 Marshall Fire that affected suburbs in Boulder.
Spending time “offline”
I’ve been hibernating creatively as I’m acclimating to a new job, sleep schedule, and everyday routine. I’ve just recently had the urge to create – whether its dancing in my kitchen, snapping pictures of the pets, curating shot lists on my Sony Handycam, or writing a blog post.

Essentially, I’ve been experiencing life at a different pace and wave length. From working a lot of fast-paced jobs that require a high sense of urgency to slowing down and producing quality work – it has been a nice change of pace. My new job allows me to tinker and gain new skills that don’t require getting dirty with oils, greases, and chemicals. I’m at a good spot where I get to do mechanical sh*t without the everyday annoyances of being a “grease monkey” as the older guys would call it.

On my downtime, I still consume automotive content on YouTube and Instagram, binge-listen to Wale’s everything is a lot., 2025 (Spotify), and window shop on Facebook Marketplace for tools that I can use at my job. Furthermore, I’ve dove into a fundamental topic of hip-hop: turntablism and DJs. In short, I learned about the Beat Junkies through DJ Rhettmatic who made an appearance on Sway Calloway’s Sway In the Morning radio show.
Holidaze
Besides that, wifey and I have been shopping for Christmas gifts. She was busy wrapping presents while I procrastinated on my Secret Santa gift. Luckily, I found some alternative gifts that arrived before Christmas Eve. I was having trouble because my Secret Santa had things on their wishlist that were either sold out or would not get here on time…

Recently, I’ve got back in touch with some childhood homies which has been great. We’re in a group chat and it feels good. It’s been damn near 3-5 years since we’ve last caught up. We’ve all gone through changes: I’ve moved from my hometown and got married, one homie has had a kid, and another homie has moved to an adjacent state! It’s reassuring for sure and I’m thankful to be able to rekindle with my brothers from other mothers.
Presence
With all this time that has passed and 2025 coming a close, the practice of being present seems to come more natural. I get to slow down, breathe, and take in things in the moment. Whether it’s watching the geese land in the lake, spotting Orion’s belt during my morning walks, and/or enjoying a beautiful sunset, it’s nice to just be an audience to life/nature happening around me. Time feels a bit slower. Having financial security has been a huge relief for my mental. I’ve been trying to secure it for majority of the year and it’s perhaps the main reason I’m able to take a step back.

If you’ve stuck around from this lull in automotive content, thank you. Thanks for coming back and tuning in to each blog post. My relationship with social media is ever changing. I find myself wanting to revert to the ways we used to share online: do some living, post it, and keep on living – forgetting that we posted. There was no need to overthink about engagement and optimal times to post. I’m compelled to think that smartphones, social media, and the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way humans interact and I feel it personally; in the way I interact with my wife or strangers and in the way I need to have everything be perfect or appear “having it all”…
Despite the snow-less December, I spotted a couple classics on the road this past month. Since this is mainly an automotive enthusiast blog, I had to throw in some cars haha. These cars are what most enthusiasts may call: Classics. All vary in application yet withstand the test of time and get enthusiasts like me (or us) to bust out the camera and nerd out.

What’s next?
As I become a more passive participant in social media (aka lurking), I’m deciding to use REVIZE.BLOG as my main way for posting. It’s nice to not worry about staying relevant. It’s just too much work for me and doesn’t align with how I want my story to be told. I’m here for the long run like your favorite YouTubers or hip-hop artists who take their time with their craft. Who knows what’s in store for REVIZE in 2026? I guess you just gotta wait and see!
From me to you, happy holidays! I’ll catch y’all next time! JVZY out!
