Andy’s Frozen Custard Car Meet in Littleton | Oct. 2022

Embarking the end of this 3-part throwback of car meets I attended in Colorado was this meet hosted at Andy’s Frozen Custard in Littleton, CO. I never visited the city of Littleton, heard of Andy’s Frozen Custard, nor attended a car meet in Colorado so this meet was a first of many things for me as a 24 year old in an entirely new city and state. 2 years have flew by as I’m writing this now in July 2024 so my mindset has changed drastically. The more I go down memory lane, I start to reflect on how I immature I was and how I processed my thoughts. At the time, I had very high expectations and some pessimism towards the car culture – or lack thereof – in Colorado. “Fake parts everywhere”, “that car isn’t clean”, and “cars in California are way better” were the thoughts I had when I initially moved here. The main takeaway was that I was pessimistic and focused on the negative. I honestly found it quite hard to find authentic enthusiasts here because they are not as commonly found as they were in California. You’ll see and read in a few but there are quality builds out here in Colorado… it just takes some searching.

Months prior to moving to Colorado, I often shared with my wife that I was worried if I’ll never find a community in the Denver area. I was starting to look for car enthusiasts in the area on Instagram and followed @b00tykahl, Brandon Kahl. I haven’t met the dude but if it weren’t for his post on Instagram, I wouldn’t have attended this meet LOL. He owns a 6th gen Civic coupe slammed on Work Meisters which you’ll see later in the post. I brought my wife with me so another “first” of firsts added to the list: First time bringing my wife to a car meet! It was an interesting experience because I was dealing with a really new environment so it was a bit of a sensory overload. Regardless I had my camera with me to slow down, relax and snapped away at some cool cars.

Nothing like an Oreo shake to shake up the day. It was a thick shake and quite filling. Rating: 5/5!

I forgot who was hosting the meet to be honest but I do remember that it was mainly Japanese and European cars in attendance. Here’s a clean VW Mk I Golf Cabriolet on a set of mesh wheels.

Euro R-inspired Acura TSX wearing a set of Work VS Mesh wheels.

Wide-body Lexus LS460 (XF40) on a rebarreled set of Riverside Trafficstar DTX wheels representing the VIP community of Colorado. The brushed finish on the wheels compliments the flair of this wide-body kit.

The Infiniti M45 Y34 is a personal favorite VIP chassis of mine. This Y34 featured a K-break body kit, air ride suspension system, and Riverside Trafficstar DTX’s but in more mild specs compared to the LS beside it.

To my suprise, it was interesting to discover that imported Japanese cars seemed to be a more popular choice than USDM-spec Japanese cars for Colorado enthusiasts. Take this with a grain of salt as this meet is just a small sample size of what truly represents Colorado car culture… It’s really cool to see though. Owning an imported car is a dream of mine. What’s one car that you would like to import? I would import a Toyota JZX100 Chaser/Mark II, Honda Civic Type R FD2, or Nissan Silvia S15.

From left to right, here’s a line-up of RHD 4 door drift cars: Nissan Laurel C33, Toyota Mark II JZX81, and Toyota Cresta JZX90.

The red baseball tee is pretty neat: “Balls Deep Baseball Team – We don’t stop at 3rd base”. Other cool small details are the “Abo Moon” sticker on the tailight of the Mark II JZX81 and the “93TRILL” custom license plate of the Laurel C33.

In this trio of a line-up, I was drawn to this Mark II. Running a mismatched wheel setup, we view gold Volk TE37’s on the front and silver Work Emotion XT7’s on the rear.

The cockpit of this Mark II featured a wood grain steering wheel with a Toyota “TEQ” horn button and BOSS coffee cans in the cup holder vents.

More drift cars were in attendance at this meet as evident with this Root beer colored duo: Mazda Miata MX-5 and Nissan 240SX RPS13.

Brandon Kahl’s (@b00tykahl on Instagram) 6th generation Honda Civic coupe hammered to the ground on Work Meister S1R wheels. There’s not many clean examples of slammed EJ chassis but Brandon’s Civic was executed nicely.

Pretty interesting to see T-demand lug nuts on this Civic. It adds a nice touch of contrast to the overall simple-looking exterior.

That’s a good tuck of rim underneath that rear fender…

About 20 minutes later with a stomach full of Oreo shake, the parking lot was starting to fill up as well. Rolling into the lot was this VW Jetta GLX Mk 3 on BBS RS wheels.

Some love for van culture was present at this meet with this lowered and kitted Toyota Sienna on Work Meister VS-XX’s.

Lastly, this was THE car of the meet for me. This Lexus IS300 SXE10 is owned by @kaeda_shitmizu (on Instagram). He was the only person I spoke to at that meet besides my wife and the server at Andy’s who made my milkshake. I confess: “spoke to” might’ve been an exaggeration because I only complimented “that’s a really clean car” or something along those lines… I have got to be better at connecting with people with my shy personality lol.

Wonderful assortment of parts on Kaede’s IS300 from the TRD Neo V1 front bumper, RS200 Z edition Altezza grill, TRD sideskirts, Ganador mirrors, paint-matched window visors, and to the Advan SA3R wheels. Solid execution on this Lexus IS!

The builds here in Colorado aren’t so bad y’know. It took me a fair amount of time to realize that because I had focused on the wrong things. As I mentioned before, I had to search more haha. I hope y’all enjoyed the content! Be sure to look out for car meet content from California which I think everyone would enjoy! Thanks for reading revize.blog!
