Well this is the first official event coverage of the revize.blog. We’re gonna take it back to July 24, 2016. I was one year outta high school and I never knew such an event took place locally. The first car show I went to was with my cousins. It was Hot Import Nights (HIN) in San Mateo, CA – if I remember correctly. I was a super shy kid. My cousin told me to take pics with some import models but I scurried away outta shyness and just wanted to look at cars LOL. Anyways I brought with me this Kodak point and shoot camera my family bought from Costco that they would use to capture family occasions. Who knew years later, I’d buy my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D3200 and start flicking away at cars I thought that looked sick?
Nevertheless, WekFest San Jose (WFSJ) was different because it’s the first time I snuck into a car show to avoid the entry fee cuz I was broke… Pause. (I did start becoming a regular and started paying the entry fee so cut me some slack haha.) When my homies and I made our unauthorized entrance in, it was stimulation overload. There was so much cool sh*t to look at. Well, that’s enough of a trip down memory lane!
Again, welcome to revize.blog! Hope you enjoy these pictures taken by teenage Jayvee lol.

This was a crazy sight to see at the time. A lot of “firsts” at this show. You remember when you’re growing up as a kid and you’re checking off the smallest things off your bucket list like “my first kiss” or “first time sneaking out”. For me it was “first time sneaking in a car show”. Pause. Okay, I’ll chill with the sneaking in thing haha. Legit, I checked off “first GTR”. Yes there was the R35 GTR that we recieved state-side but seeing this imported R33 blew my mind. Seeing it next to the R32 GTR beside it made my soul leave my body for a second. Alright I’m done exaggerating here – back to the content…

One of my favorite Evo’s to exist!

I was never really into Honda’s until I started playing Forza Motorsport 3 on the Xbox 360. Additionally, the love for Honda’s really spiked in 2014 when Joey Lee from The Chronicles uploaded videos of Civics zipping down the kanjo with straight-piped B-series engines. Although this EF Hatch lowered on Mugen MF10s and ran by swapped K-series engine isn’t a kanjozoku, my younger self was diving more into the JDM culture – specifically drifting and Civics lol. Slowly I was converting into a lover of anything VTEC, Spoon, Mugen, FEEL’s, and J’s Racing-related.

Here’s a 5th generation Camry slammed on mesh wheels with VIP styling.

From team NvUS is this ITR-Faced Integra with a shaved engine bay and Sheepey Built Intercooler tucked behind the BYS (Back Yard Special) Front Bumper.

DC5 Integra (or RSX in the USA) with a M&M Honda body kit and turbocharged K24 sitting on gold CE28s to match the golden valve cover.

At a glance, this DC2 Integra has Mugen everywhere (to my knowledge): Mugen valve cover, Mugen kit, Mugen MF10s, and the Mugen Gen 2 wing. Despite the mirrors not being Mugen, you can’t forget the Ganador mirrors.

Grounded 4th gen Lexus LS.

Super detailed engravings on the lip of this royal blue-faced Work VS-XX.

Rarely seen 2-door 3rd gen Camry. This Camry seemed to be a regular at WFSJ.

From Phaze2 is one of two 911s with a Spoon-themed livery.

Another 911 but this one is from ATS Garage.

The Initial-D fanboy within me was ecstatic seeing this panda 86. So much so I made it my cover photo on my Facebook page as soon as this was edited and uploaded haha.

“First waterfall in a trunk” – check!

Super clean 2GS sitting in the middle of a clean-up area as WFSJ was coming to an end.

Before I knew of Illiminate from their YouTube videos, I wasn’t accustomed to seeing S2000s this low. Randy Truong executed this well with the RPF1s.

Tony Huynh from Illiminate with his bagged Acura RL.

Another “hachi-roku” or 86, sitting on Work Meister CR01s with a gold face and bronze lip.

Higginsbuilt EF with a clean, shaved engine bay to showcase the B-series inside. *Spoiler alert, years later this would be K-swapped with a full cage system.*

To end off this WFSJ 2016 coverage, here is a kouki S14 on Almaden Blvd. as it departs from the San Jose Convention Center.
I hope you all enjoyed this coverage. I never thought I’d post these photos on a blog besides my Flickr. If you wish to check out other photos I’ve taken, click here! I wish for y’all to come back next time on the revize.blog! We up!
